Here are some resources to help clarify any questions about M1 Mac compatibility with your Roland Switcher.
Please refer to the compatibility table in this article for your product. Video Capture for VR and most RCS software are compatible. The hardware itself is not related to M1 compatibility:
Also note that there are no drivers to download and manually install for Roland video products with USB streaming outputs.
They use a "class driver" that installs automatically each time you connect it to the Mac via USB.
The VR-1HD, VR-4HD, VR-50HD, VR-50HD MKII, and UVC-01 all function this way.
V, VC, and XS Series
The switcher itself is not dependent on your Mac chipset.
If you have your Roland V or XS series switcher connected to your Mac with a capture device like our UVC-01, the Mac sees only the UVC-01 via the class driver that installs automatically.
VR and UVC Series
The USB Streaming output on the back of your VR series AV mixer is not dependent on your Mac chipset, the Mac sees the AV mixer via the class driver that installs automatically.
The VR-1HD and VR-4HD RCS control software is compatible with M1 Mac and MacOS 11, more info in the above support article link.
